Arogya Foundation of India
This wing of Ekal organization looks after matters related to Health and Hygiene of the villagers. Arogya organization creates awareness and provides educational facilities about healthy life. It also arranges medical facilities for treatment.
One very important program of this organization is Anemia Control, in short ACP. The function of ACP is to provide facilities for treatment of iron deficiency in the blood. It is a very common disease among women in the villages. The treatment is done using Ayurvedic medicines and home remedies. One anemia patient can be treated with a cost of about $5 per patient.
In addition to ACP, there are other health related initiatives – Chikitsa Seva Kendra (Dispensaries); Gram Arogya Sevika (Village Female Health worker); Medical Consultation Camps and Government Health Care Units.
Gramothan, or uplifting villages is a very important part of the Ekal movement. The main objective of Gramothan movement is to make the villagers self reliant with their own efforts. The villagers are provided necessary guidance, support and help for their economic development – skill development, market access; fostering cooperation among the farmers and the various institutions the farmers have to deal with, etc. You can support village economic projects with small donations as per the chart below – Sponsor Seva Programs.
