The Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation of Canada’s Youth Team, is organizing a Canada-wide Art Contest! Through this Art Contest the youth wants to provide people with an exciting opportunity to take a break from their lives and participate in a fun and engaging art contest through which we aim to raise awareness and funds for COVID relief in India. Our Art Contest 2021 is the perfect opportunity for anyone and everyone to show their skills and have a shot at winning several cash prizes as well as contribute to a noble cause! The contest will run in the weeks of July. Stay tuned for more updates!

Rules and Guidelines

  1. Age Requirement: This contest is open to all artists, regardless of age or skill level. Age will be taken into consideration, so don’t be afraid to submit!
  2. The Work Must Be Original: Your art must be your own original concept and not a copy of anyone else’s copyrighted material 
  3. Repeat Entries: You are not limited to one entry per person and may submit as many as you’d like 
  4. Non-exclusive Permissions: By entering this art competition, you are granting us a non-exclusive perpetual license to reproduce images of your artwork on our website, future art books/collections, and for marketing purposes. All winning entries will be displayed on our website and social media
  5. File Sizes and Formats: A clear image of your hand drawn artwork must be submitted in PNG or PDF format
  6. How To Enter: To enter please fill the registration form by following the link ( link )
  7. Judging Criteria: Does the submitted artwork fit the theme of “COVID-19 THROUGH MY EYES” Is it creative? Is it original and interesting?
  8. Multiple Submission: There are no restrictions to the number of art work an artist can submit. Each entry is $10
  9. Submission Deadlines: Artworks may be submitted up until midnight Eastern Standard Time on the last day of the submission schedule posted. No artworks will be accepted past the posted deadline
  10. Prizes: Total prize worth $1000 in form of gift card. Choice of gift cards Amazon, Indigo and Michael’s. The gift card will only be emailed to the address provided in the registration form
  11. Winners: Winners will be announced on our social media by July 25th, 2021
  12. Location: All participants should be residing in Canada

  1. Maximum paper size should be A3
  2. No printing out anything and sticking on the hand-drawn version
  3. For hand drawn artworks, an agreement form must be signed that all of the artwork was entirely completed by the participants, without the assistance of any other individual
  4. Any medium can be used to help you express your ideas and thoughts on paper. Example equipment: Pencils, Pencil Colours, Watercolours, Crayons, Cotton, Rulers, Sketch pens, etc.)
  1. Entries can be of any dimensions (No Restrictions)
  2. Making art online from scratch using any software
  3. No external clipart or stock images allowed
  4. The final submission should be in a PDF or Image format

Ideally before 26 June to have a chance to avail the free amazing art classes taught by leading artists in Canada! But latest by 5 July to be able to submit the artwork by the deadline that is 6 July 11:59PM EST.

Definitely, but we will encourage you to do it yourself to make the experience more fun for yourself!

Each child will be judged based on the age category they choose to participate in.

The artwork should not be a direct copy of any image. You can take inspiration from it!

Vasudha Tiwari is a visual artist, an art instructor and a radio presenter in Edmonton. She holds a Master’s Degree and has more than 15 years of experience as an artist. She received the RISE AWARD 2019 in the Arts and Cultural category for demonstrating outstanding commitment of community engagement through art. Her work has been showcased in renowned Art Galleries in India and Canada.
Rajesh Chakraborty

He is a Storyboard Artist at WildBrain in Vancouver. He is Internationally acclaimed for Graphic Design, Animation and Visualization skills and has more than 20 years of experience as a Storyboard Artist. He has successfully handled many UI design engagements for several Global Publications Houses and has helped shape careers of many young designers through on-the-job or full-time training.
